More information is coming soon!

Who can attend hnmun-la?

Any university students or high school students are eligible to apply to our committees at HNMUN Latin America. This year, we will have seven committees for university students and two committees for high school students. Please refer to our "Committees" tab for more information about English, Spanish, single delegate, and double delegate committees. High school and middle school delegates may also participate in HNMUN-LA Next Generation, a one-day training simulation with our Harvard directors. Delegates often come with other students from their school or region to form delegations. Delegations may include up to 32 members. If your group wishes to bring more, you may split into two delegations and register as two separate groups. Additionally, if you hope to bring both university and high school delegates, please register them as separate delegations. If you have any questions about your eligibility, please send us an email at info@hnmunla.org.

How do I register?

Registrations are currently open and must be done through our registration system, MUNager. Refer to the “Apply” tab in our website!

Is the conference run entirely in English? Es esta conferencia conducida totalmente en español?

Most of HNMUN-Latin America will be conducted in English. Therefore, HNMUN-LA is an excellent opportunity for delegates to practice and improve their English abilities. We do, however, offer multiple committees conducted entirely in Spanish. Both university and high school delegates will have the opportunity to participate in a committee conducted in Spanish.

Can High school delegates participate in university committees?

No. Individuals matriculated as High School Students (9th grade through 12th grade, or Preparatoria in certain Latin American countries) must exclusively sign up for a High School committee. Similarly, University students are not allowed to participate in a High School committee.

If I just graduated high school, should I register for a high school or university committee? What if I am taking a gap year between high school and college?

High School students who have recently graduated already fall in the University category. Therefore, regardless of whether or not they have started University, they are not allowed to participate in High School committees. Similarly, gap year students are not allowed to participate in a High School committee.

What does an Assistant Director do?

Assistant Directors for HNMUN-Latin America will work closely alongside the Harvard team to help run committees or devise elements in our crisis simulations. In the months before the conference, all Assistant Directors will be personally in touch with our team of Harvard Directors to prepare. This will include training sessions, preparation of committee background guides, and online hangout sessions. It is an excellent opportunity to experience the staffing side of a conference and to collaborate with Harvard students. Applications for assistant directors will be released soon!

Who is eligible to be an Assistant Director?

Any university student, or student finishing his/her last year of high school, is eligible to apply.

When are position papers due?

Position Papers should be sent to the committee’s email address by the last day prior to conference.
